I'm in the middle of my first build. Was following along with a YouTube video that was doing a build with similar parts to my build. At the moment I've hit a snag.

I'll post a couple pics

The problem is not being able to get the fan onto the processor. When I remove those brackets beside the processor chip, theres no brace for the screws to go into that come off the fan (4).

I was able to get all 8 screws that hold the MB in effortlessly, which led me to believe I had seated the MB correctly. Is it possible that the MB is not seated properly? That maybe the fan braces didn't come through MB slot when i seated the MB?

Solution
The original bracket you put back... assuming you just inserted it back in the holes... they are both backward. What is the cooler you are trying to mount? If it requires removing the standard brackets, it should come with a back plate and/or other mounting accessories. The stock cooler requires using those black brackets.

Bro by seeing your uploaded pic its look like with motherboard brackets you removed back plate too...If you want to install stock cooler than Back plate is needed which come with motherboard for screwing the fan screws...only remove front bracket not back plate
