damn that....
I was yelled at and I have seen others yelled at for posting without pics.....

Oi, stress head. Relax.

He said he doesn't have a camera at the moment, when he takes some pics he'll edit his post. Whats the problem...

im new to custom building pc's but i had a go at making a window and put some lights and stuff in my 690 II advanced im quite pleased with it for a first try

32'c at idle and 65 under prime 95 load atm. @1.35 vcore
i cute the window out with an andgle grinder and rounded the corners with a dremmel.i resprayed it black to get rid of silver edges (im a painter by trade) and i dont like the look of rubber u channel. mounted the perspex with outdoor double sided mounting tape and sealed it airtight with sillicon around the back. unfortunatly i can't face the cooler upwards cos it will block a ram slot as you said.

Great job on the window, how did you go about installing/cutting it? I am getting around to putting one in my Carbide 500r, finally got my modders tape lol just need a dremel and table saw so I can get these damn edges correct.

How are you going to go about cutting into the 500R? (ie. in front of the mesh area? or are you going to cut out some of the mesh?) I'm interested to see this as I have the same case. And it will be a bit different since the side panel isn't flat. Good luck!

Thank you for your understanding and kindness. You will find that I now have a picture of the machine that I recently put together. I would also like to add that it is running flawlessly and I am very appreciative to those who, on this forum, played a tremendous part in my decisions. I recently downloaded and installed the programs I most use including World of Warcraft. All settings in "WoW" are on ultra and/or maxed out. While playing in graphic intensive scenerios, I experienced FPS rates of 150+. After doing so, I took the side cover off, the computer having not been powered down since initial installation, to find the Zalman's CPU cooler, cool as a cucumber so to speak. The computer is instantly responsive and runs multiple programs with ease. The HD was partitioned off to house Windows 7 64b on it's own section of the hard disc while all other programs are loaded from the other partition. I recently rated my computer as well and with exception to the HD, all other parts rate at 7.5. I am Thoroughly happy and excited about our future together in business, gaming, and relaxtion time. Thanks again for all your support and information/ideas.

The RAMs are in the second duel channel. On the diagram, there are four slots and the memory is sitting in the second set of two. I would have put them in the first set but there wasn't very much room with the hsu hovering right over it. I wasn't aware that it had to be in the first set of channel. Does it make alot of difference? They aren't in the middle though if that's what you were saying.

Typically you match RAM with matching color channels. But as long as you followed your motherboard manual I'll assume you're good.

I've just never seen 2 slots of differing colors right next to each other share the same channel.

Going to take out the mesh by bending the slits that hold it into the panel, trace a piece of cardboard so I can get my cuts proper on my plexiglass and probably use a tile table saw with a 3/8th blade that cuts plexi well and then I'll dremel the round edges and use modders tape to stick it inside the case :3

I know there are probably better ways to do it but that seems like the least stress involved lol.

Cool, would love to see the progress. I've been thinking about doing some mods on my case but not sure what to do yet =D

you've got 6 cpu's and 5 motherboards , what do you do with the left over one

Unless there is something really different about your motherboard, which I highly doubt, you need to put the RAM in the same colored slots in order for it to be in dual channel. So your RAM will be staggered i.e. in slots 1 and 3, or 2 and 4.

Here is my rig:

rigr.jpg

CPU: Core 2 duo E6750 3.4GHz(OC)

CPU Cooler: arctic freezer pro(very silent)

RAM: OCZ Platinum 2x1Gb PC6400 850MHz(OC)

VIDEO: Sapphire vapor-x ATi radeon HD5770 (GPU 860MHz, RAM 1200MHz-no overclock/GPU 960MHz, RAM 1350MHz-OC), but now i use it at 920Mhz with 1250Mhz as a personal preference because even if the overclock was stable and had no problems i do not want to stress my video card to much.

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte GA-P35DS3-r rev2.0
HDD: Segate 250Gb + WD 500Gb

PSU: Thermaltake TR2 550W

CASE: Thermaltake Soprano windowed silver

OPTICAL DRIVE: Asus DVD-RW with Light scribe.

OTHER: 2 noctua fans 120mm (one intake and one exhaust) - http://www.noctua.at/main.php?show=productview&products_id=12&lng=en

As display i use a 1920x1080 LCD Samsung 5 series.

Parts are a bit dated, but nice input.

Thank you, will be making an upgrade soon. This year or next year when the new stuff comes out and/or prices stabilize on the new hardware.

For now it can play at 1080p all Call of Duty, Fallout and Assassins Creed at max(AA 2-4x in AC), and the more demanding games at 720p and higher with decent settings.

I know I've posted my rig before but just wanted to show my "improvised" Cold cathode box and switch layout, also the new NZXT sleeved 24 pin and front pannel extension cables.

Next thing to come is painting this case, doing some cutting and a side window, or just getting a new case when tax returns get here!
