Huh, my handiwork?!

I challenge you; go out and buy an antec DF-30.

Then attempt do improve on my heroic effort. I spent days making it look THAT good. I will never buy a Dark Fleet case again. The CM is appalling.

EDIT: I tidied up a teeny bit more. The one thing that bugs me more than anything else is that theres nowhere behind the board to put the CPU power cable, so it has to stick in front. Christ, it sickens me looking at it. But still, I should get a medal for this -.-

@Niklas, much beter man,
/Hand over C.M. badge willingly :)

@Prezzle, you're right man, cases with no space on the rear are hard to work with,
You can strip the mesh sleeve off that 8pin cpu line and spread them flat behind the mobo if you really are sick of it, tape em down to avoid any poking on the mobo though :)
My Gf's case was a similar nightmare and I had to settle for tidy instead of hidden cables :)
Moto

So I've been reading over this thread, looking at everyone's builds, and seeing them all made me ashamed of the cable management in my new build... so I took action.

Let's take this step-by-step.

Here's what I started with: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/266/598yj.jpg/

But with the able help of my faithful assistant: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/12/599ji.jpg

I was able to turn it into this nightmare which will probably give Moto a heart attack: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/840/022ad.jpg/

So I went back and did some work, pushing everything I could behind the MB tray. I also flipped my HDDs to better hide the SATA cables, shoved the SATA power line under the DVD drive, and (relatively) neatly wrapped my molex cable on the floor, out of the air flow. The only thing I'm unhappy about - well, it could all look better, but in particular the rear and side fan cables bother me, because there's nowhere to put them.

Anyway, here it is now. Significantly improved, but probably not enough to earn a badge: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/163/024qmq.jpg/

The build is as follows:

Case: CoolerMaster HAF 912
MB: Asus P8Z77-V
CPU: IB i5 3570k, stock heatsink
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4) 1600mhz
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti Superclocked
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 1TB
SDD: Crucial M4 128 GB
PSU: Non-modular Corsair Enthusiast 650w
A bunch of blue LED CM fans

Random question, does anyone know if a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo will fit in my system? My RAM is not low-profile, but some other pictures make me think that if I use the pull configuration it'll fit with my RAM.

Nice rig M8 !!! looks a lot better :) It took me 4 or 5 times to get mine the way i fell good about it ( with the push of MoTo lol ) I also removed my upper HDD tray and install my SSD behind my dvd slots between the case door with some velcro :)

There is always something to add or fix or change :)

@akamrcrack... Very nicely done!!

You put more work into you CM on the 500R than I did... I do like how you have your cables on the GTX 670's... I think when I have the time, I'll switch mine that way, instead of coming in from the side.

Very nice and clean, well done.
I'm seeing a lot of very well thought out and built machines.

I like the SLI Bridge tucked into the gap between cards, nice touch man,
Colourcode the sata connectors though, the white ones in the white sockets, black on on the black socket,
and tidy those cables 😛
kidding, the gfx card cables are the best I've seen on those sidejack Evga's, well done
Moto

@Tecmo, thanks that means alot. :) I mainly did the cables like that because from the side/top my temps were higher than from the side, so I tried my hardest to make them look as nice as possible while still keeping good temps

@Earl45, thank ya kindly 😀

@Moto, the great CM God has spoken! Glad to hear I surpased expectations 😛 I do need to pick up some more all black sata cables lol. I will also be getting a black evga sli bridge so no random off colors :pt1cable:

I appreciate all the nice words, and so does my pc 😍 :hello:

Very nice!
How much do those fans help your temps? Can you post what they are?

I've removed my LED's in my PC case cause I noticed they generated a lot of heat. I've wanted to get rid of them anyway, they've been in there long enough. Yesterday I took my PC downstairs today and torn it to bits... actually I removed the fans, the PSU and some other miscellaneous stuff, used a little vacuum cleaner and a compressor. After my PC was basically dust-free I've added some oil to my fans. Also added more tie-wraps and did some more cable-management. This is probably the closest I'll get lol.

Got rid of the white tie-wraps and added black ones.

Nice Rig M8 !!! I like the SSD how did you Mount it there ? I have mine Mounted in the back of my DVD Cage between the door ( I will have to take a Pic )

You Could clean up the bottom row of cables a bit, Like i did in this pic http://s1154.photobucket.com/albums/p535/Niklas_13/?action=view&current=20120625_232846.jpg

GPU idle at 30C
CPU when pc first starts idles at 30C-31C
HDD 28C

ambient 76F

Max temps in game, 56C for BF3 (vsync/adpative) for gpu, 52C for cpu.

At the moment my side panel's fan isn't plugged in so I haven't been able to really see how much the third front intake has improved.

@ Nikas, yeah I am going to try that sometime, I got the 8pin/24pin taken care of I just gotta manage the modular cables a little extra now :)

Heat wise, the LED strip I have in there now is epic bright and puts off zero heat. I've used several different methods of lightin my case (tried tons of aerocools, other led kits) I found the Bitfenix Alchemy to be the nicest/brightest/easiest to install/cleanest to manage.

I am gonna have to try this now that you got me thinkin about it, those noiseblockers sure are beasts so I expect they will do some dmg if I flipped em. when I put my hand over the fans to test for heat the two tops fans push a ton of air but its only mildly warm compared to the actual warm air being dumped out the back from gpu/cpu. So I don't think I should encounter any negative issues with flipping them besides at the very worst maybe the temps raise a little. Very easy to reswap if thats the case tho, thanks :)

@ Niklas, I used a single screw through the 2.5" adapter and into the top (bottom) of the 5.25" cage (one screw hole) then used some double sided tape M3 modders tape as the 2nd screw to keep it from wiggling front to back. Making sure the single screw is all the way tight helped too, I like it alot. Doesn't effect airflow any and gives my case an extra bit of uniqueness! I was considering mounting it out of sight, but now I am considering cutting a small window out on my panel to showcase the ssd XD

I just did this to my SSD http://s1154.photobucket.com/albums/p535/Niklas_13/?action=view&current=20120629_135203.jpg

And took out the upper HDD Cage as well http://s1154.photobucket.com/albums/p535/Niklas_13/?action=view&current=20120629_135418.jpg

I might make a plate to fit in that space and pop rivet it in there ( like yours )

I like your 24 pin cable, i like to get some for my rig 24 pin, 8 pin and PCI E ones ( you know a cheep place to buy thos ? )

My next step is to finish my fans SP 120mm bottom HDD 120 AF TOP of HDD 2 140 AF top of case and 1 140 AF rear

Then by x-mas a larger SSD and sli with a nice http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001523

Nice 😀

I've burned through many different brands of sleeved cables, best sleeve quality by far is NZXT if you are going the cheaper route. Their heat shrink game isn't too epic but atleast they make well made extensions.

Frozencpu.com / Xoxide.com / Amazon.com would be where I would look for them.

Tested BF3 with my two top noiseblockers flipped for intake. Bottom gpu runs at same temp as top gpu now, both cards dropped about 5C in 64man Caspian (running around in the field I get about 47C, in jets I get 42C) with Adaptive Vsync on. Only downside I have found is that both cards run at 31C now idle a 1C difference from before lol. Gaming temp wise I am very impressed.

Thank you Prox for the suggestion, looks like I will be keeping it this way 😀

Gonna run some benchies now to see how temps are extreme wise!

As well, I bid this thread adieu.
