do you moderators know of some high resolution tomshardware logo images?

the ones i can pull from the internet are severely lacking in quality.

when TH had the facelift they must have had some graphic designers produce some high quality images and they must be stored someplace. if we can get ahold of these originals then it would be much easeir for us to create some wallpapers.... *hint hint*

i suppose by now you can see that rezsam1 and i have completely different styles. that is just how it is... photoshopping is quite unique.

is there anything in particular that you would like photoshopped as a background? to be honest taking requests is far easier than coming up with things myself.

dont hesitate to be very specific on what you want as the more specific the easier it is (as strange as that sounds!)

i think the op gave up on trying to make the wallpaper for me. i didnt mean anything by the simple challenge and i know from experience that such things drastically increase skill level (how do you think i was good in the first place).

Maybe a wallpaper on each of the Bioshock cities, Columbia and Rapture.

Some images you could use, tried to avoid ones that expouse the philosophy behind each city as I'm sure Tom's doesnt want to bee seen in that kind of way.

Could you and or rezasam design a Counter Strike Wallpaper with the Scar 17s.

Nice work (ad infinitum) on the Bioschock wallpaper, only small niggle is that the logo used is for Bioshock Infinite, which is the game where Columbia is present. The first Bioshock that explored Rapture used this logo.

Because I know nothing of guns, how about more games? Lets get some Portal happening.
Maybe a wallpaper that contrasts the sterile test chambers in Portal against the destroyed and overgrown test chambers of Portal 2.

-no i didnt realize it was underwater. i just assumed since it looked like a city it was above ground.

the image was labeled as the scar 17s so i'm assuming that it is the correct model.

i'm not too keen on tactical weaponry so i have a hard time telling the difference. classic 1911 pistols are more my style.

Oh you really should play it, easily one of the best game series ever.

- You could reverse the lightning to be going up, one of the first powers in the game you acquire is electricity and the cities power supply does play a large role in the plot.
- The logo is a quick fix
- The American flags, could they be made so that they are blank? Tying into the philosophy bit I mentioned before, the whole point of Rapture was too escape from the ideologies of the US and USSR (games set in the 60's) to live in basically a no rules free-market utopia. Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged taken too extreme measures and all that.
Meanwhile Columbia is a floating city which was the 51st state of America that broke off from the Union in 1901 because America wasn't American enough :lol:

what i find strange is that the city looks normal... and yet it is supposd to be underwater. how do you walk around?

The city is contained within the buildings, except for some Big Daddies that repair structures from the outside and travel between the city and the surface, you stay inside the buildings or the passages between them.

I have not played Infinite yet. Waiting until I finally upgrade my graphics card like I have been threatening to do for about a year. I hope that stupid clown is in it though. I love the first game. 2 is OK but not as good as 1. The original is on my top 5 games of all time list. It truly is as much art as game.

I just finished book 5 of the series coming back on the train from work tonight.

Its quite a good read.
