there's an upwards of around 8 wifi hotspots in my apartment and they're broadcasted 24/7 for every single day. i've always been concerned about the wifi radiation but there's really nothing i can do about it.

a few years ago though i saw a wifi jamming device that works by being plugged into a regular electrical socket in the living room, whereupon the jammer would send out EMF waves which would travel from the wall socket, and through to all the electrical wirings behind the concrete walls of my apartment, this supposedly would 'harmonize' all the wifi radiation thus stopping them from radiating into my home or something like that. obviously i don't remember what the device was called and i certainly can't find the website which sold the thing anymore since its been so many years.

so does anyone have an idea if having too many of neighbor's wifi hotspots in a home is detrimental to health in the long term?

also does anyone know if those wifi harmonizing device actually works?

thanks so much for letting me know!

Someone trying to con you if you think there is a device that can block radio signals via your electrical wires.

I hope you do not have a microwave oven in your house. Wifi uses the same radio frequencies as the microwave. Do you have a cell phone or any computers almost all are constantly sending out wifi signals. These are much closer than your neighbors wifi.

What are you going to do about the weather radar passing through your house that operates on the same general radio frequencies as some wifi.

You are being overly concerned but if you really want a solution go to the hardware store and buy aluminum window screen. It must be metal not fiberglass. Copper is best but nobody can afford that. You then cover all the wall completely leaving no gaps. You then connect a small wire between the screen and the ground in a electrical outlet. This will stop almost all forms of radio transmission from getting into your house.

Or maybe don't worry about things that they have tested and found are no risk.

I am an ex personal trainer who spent 1000 years taking people's health to beyond normal. There are 1000 things people commonly do/encounter/ingest... a day that can harm your health to various degrees. Some are big. Some are tiny.

Scratch this one off your list and move on to things that actually matter such as the triple-bacon-cheeseburgers...

yeah it's probably just a scam selling regular electrical plugs as some wifi harmonizer, and thanks for letting me know about all those kinds of radio waves. also the aluminum window screen sounds like it'd be a fun project, i think might actually give it a try someday.

true true.

If you are actually thinking about doing it, it is called a faraday cage. If you dig around you will find people talking about how to build them.

We had a couple rooms where I used to work that were designed to block all signals. They used it to test various radio equipment. I wasn't allowed in the rooms unescorted so not sure what they really did.

Given that WiFi is, almost literally, ubiquitous these days, coming from all sorts of devices in virtually any location you can name, even if one could somehow create a bubble at home, that would not be blocking most of what you're exposed to unless you spend the vast majority of your time strictly in your home.

If you are out and about every day, or working virtually anywhere . . .

WiFi or similar 'radiation':
Every store you go into.
The lady behind you in line, on her phone.
Where you work or go to school.
Your microwave oven.
Your personal cellphone, that is 0.75" from your brain.

Or, that big yellow thing in the green and blue room, that pumps out an average 150+ watts per square meter, every day all day.

It is darn near everywhere in the modern world. However, it must be emphasized that on the risk scale this one is waste of time. The more people focus on distractions the more it diverts them from real risks such as junk food, smoking, drinking... that actually are doing real damage to people.

We all only have so much focus to give. Choose wisely!

Flouro Flibboflasm, I want to make entirely clear that I am completely in agreement with you.

Not only is the risk (if any) incredibly low compared to equally common risk factors, it is also one that the individual can do almost nothing about.

I have said, repeatedly, that some of the worst stupidity is the direct result of being unable to do (or comprehend) an accurate risk assessment. I could spend my time worrying that I might be hit by a meteor and killed while sitting here typing, but doing so makes absolutely no sense as I have no power to avoid a meteor and the actual probability of my encountering one, ever, is infinitesimally small.

Worry about the reasonably probable risks that you can do something to ameliorate; then do those "somethings." Worrying about the remotely possible but utterly improbable is a complete waste of time and emotional energy.
