Hi. I just got a new GA8KNXP with a Matrox Video card. I was just going to
install the OS. I enabled top performance. Restarted and nada. System won't
boot. Won't even get to POST. System powers up and that's it. Any
suggestions?

You need to reset your BIOS by using jumper on mobo or simply remove the
BIOS battery for a while. Before installing OS you should load optimized
defaults, not top performance, for exactly the reason you have experienced -
usually the memory is not good enough to cope with the more aggressive
timings...

I bet you have 4 RAM modules installed. Remove one module and restart.
Disable Top Performance.
I think Top Performance set the RAM clock param too aggressively. I can't
start with either 4 sticks of Corsair XMS3200LL nor with 4 sticks of Geil
either.

Removing the battery seems the best solution.
For confirmation. I thought the GA8KNXP does NOT have a BIOS reset jumper on
the motherboard.
If it does which is it please?

Thanks

Lesson Learned. Do NOT Enable Top performance.
Removed Battery. System backup.
