[SOLVED] Torn between two GPUs -- help!

Solution
1060 vs 580 Userbenchmark

As you can see on userbenchmark, they are very similar. For me, it would come down to asking myself three things:

  1. Do the games I play generally favor the 580 over the 1060 (you can find performance reviews of the games you play)
  2. Is the extra 2 GB of VRAM going to be helpful for the games I run?
  3. If 1 and 2 are yes, how much am I willing to spend for the improvement I will get?

The trade shouldn't be costing you very much; I found a used RX 580 red devil on eBay for under $100.

Before we can say, yes to either of them, we will need to know what the make and model of the PSU is and it's age. A lot of threads here ask what GPU to get and most people forget that the PSU can and will croak if it's not up to par with the entire system's power needs.

If you will, please include/list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:

I might be missing something here, but the RX 580 and GTX 1060 are usually compared as two similar GPUs and which one is better rather than the 580 as an upgrade from the 1060. Granted, the 580 seems to run better than the 1060 in a decent amount of games, but it would be like upgrading from a 4 core 8 thread AMD CPU to an Intel 4 core 8 thread CPU - a bit of a difference but not really enough to constitute an 'upgrade.'

Also, please list your system specs as well. We can't know whether the RX 580 is a "viable option" unless we know you PSU wattage, motherboard, things like that.
