Question Toshiba HDWR21C doesn't work correctly after period of inactivity ?

After a good 1 hour and 30 minutes my secondary hard drive isn't right, it still shows in device manager, im able to access it in explorer, but when I reboot, all the changes that I made after the 1 hour and 30 minutes are gone?

EDIT: I got my drive less than a year ago if that helps

So recently saved files are disappearing from the secondary HDD ?

yes, after I reboot, the files don't disappear, but the changes do

Are you sure you are "saving" the changes you make to your files before closing them ? (File >> Save/Save As)

Yes, I have saved them. Also, icons on the desktop which are linking to an application in the secondary drive go blank before the reboot.

if it an ext hard drive check that windows not putting the drive to sleep. also check to see if there any firmware updates....sounds like the drive holding data in the ram that can be lost if the power goes out and it not writing it to the drive.

It is an internal drive, and no firmware updates are available
