I know that most of these post are old but I would like to post my solution. I have determined one of the problems are when you have the wall adapter plugs into the laptop that's one of the batteries charged I would take out the battery and the computer with still turn off. Thus making sure that its new thermal paste I found out that the wall adapter itself was giving out too much power. When the battery is back in the unit fully charged the unit does not turn off until the battery is dead but if I do plug in the wall adapter it can be from 20 minutes up to an hour and 15 minutes the computer will shut off with the battery inside. So I will suggest to most people that have a Toshiba before you do anything extenuating try to go get the universal adapter because the one that comes with the unit might be defective.
