I plan to do a complete reinstall of XP home on my PC, and wish to have
everything at hand when I do so.

I plan to save and then restore the validation key file.

I have the original restore CDs that came with my PC. If I obtain a CD with
the most current SP2, is that all I need? Or would I also need to have the
SP1 CD and then download other various updates and fixes?

Can I download SP2 in a format that I could put on a CD for this use?

Thanks.

If you have a CD burner, the SP2 file that Will Denny pointed to and a
Windows XP CD, you can use this info
http://www.msfn.org/articles.php?action=show&showarticle=49 to create a
slipstreamed version of XP that has SP2 embedded. It works very nicely. I've
done this for both Windows XP Home and Pro versions.

Hi

You don't need to install SP1. SP2 is cumulative and includes the prvious
Updates. The SP2 file can be downloaded from here:
