Question Touchpad does not work on laptop ?

Hi. I'm using Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) and Windows 10 Pro. My computer still shows the I2C HID Device in Device Manager but it has a yellow triangle over it and a non-working touchpad.

I have tried some ways to enable the touchpad, including:

• Install driver from Acer homepage/Windows homepage
• Disable and enable it
• Scan for hardware changes
• Use DriverEasy
• Use Device Diagnostic in Troubleshooter

But they haven't fixed it. Can someone help me ?

Have you tried restarting your laptop ?

Yes. I downloaded ELAN driver from Acer homepage and after installed. I restarted my laptop but it didn't work.

Are you sure the Elan driver is the correct one for your specific laptop ?

Yes, there is a laptop model select box to input my laptop model and I downloaded ELAN.

Generally you would enable I2C in the BIOS by pressing ctrl + s in there, and selecting I2C. Save and reboot
Then install the Serial IO driver and finally the touchpad driver.

I will say that most Nitro 5 AN515-57 come with a Synaptics touchpad.
