Tower Defense Gaming Hardware

Hello,
I love to play flash based tower defense games (like the bloons tower defense games especially). I've upgraded to an i7 processor but still get marginal performance. Will a nice GPU make a big difference in this type of game?

an i7 should be way more then enough cpu for flash games. what graphics are you running currently?

edit= yes flash games are hybrid games they do require cpu and gpu performance for a smooth experience. generally though you would want a decent entry level graphics card for smooth performance. like maybe a AMD HD6670 or Nvidia gt 630-640.

keep in mind both card i listed would be more then enough for flash games.

I have an I3 2330M in my laptop and it plays flash games fine. What type of video card are you using and how much RAM do you have. CPU wise the I7 should be more than enough to play any flash games, like I said I'm playing flash games with an I3 just fine.

The bottleneck you're experiencing is going to be more software related than hardware related.

I'd try a few different browsers to see if that helps any.

Are you playing flash games embedded into web pages or downloading the .swf and playing them stand-alone in their own browser tab?

Many flash games run much better without embedding.

EDIT: One recent example: I played GemCraft for a while last week. Embedded in ArmorGames' website in either IE or FF, the game was getting increasingly laggy minute by minute until it crashed after 15-20 minutes of use every time I loaded it. After saving the .swf and loading it directly in a blank page, it was running perfectly fine for hours.
