Previously, I made a post here about this same issue where the Taskbar would go transparent (without the blur effect) and the Start Menu would be completely opaque. With that previous issue, I was able to whittle down the cause to a toggle in Winaero Tweaker that I accidentally enabled, which affected taskbar transparency settings.
However, this issue seems to be back ever since I updated to the second-most recent Nvidia driver and I'm not sure why. Initially, I thought maybe the driver installation was corrupted, so I downloaded the most recent driver direct from Nvidia's site, booted into safe mode and used DDU to uninstall the old driver, after which I installed the newest one. However, this didn't fix the issue. I even threw the usual IT troubleshooting at it, from restarting, to checking monitor settings, reseating the GPU and running sfc/dism, but none of those helped either.
I know for a fact that I didn't change any display settings other than that driver update. I did some research on the issue and found a Reddit thread about a similar bug with Nvidia drivers about the same time as that original issue I had, but the weird thing is that toggling the transparency effect on Winaero Tweaker fixed the bug both times but I also tried toggling it off and on to see if it fixed it this time... no dice. And regarding the solutions suggested on that thread (and a similar thread that was linked in one of the replies), they all said the same thing: downgrade to the last functioning driver. The problem is, the whole reason I updated the driver in the first place was due to the report of eight vulnerabilities in recent drivers. I'd rather live with a visual bug than leave my system vulnerable.
That said, if anyone has any suggestions on what else I can try in order to fix this issue, I'd sincerely appreciate it. It's an annoying bug, to say the least, especially since it also makes my Open Shell taskbar look less appealing (and yes, I've attempted to close Open Shell, the issue persists whether it's on or not), which somewhat defeats the purpose of me using Open Shell in the first place.
