Trendnet router making internet really slow

hi guys . new here.
anyways, long story short
had a netgear router, but it got messed up so it doesnt work anymore, so i bought a trendnet ac1750 router excitedly (reson i bought it cause of suprisingly great reviews)i installed it thinking i was going to get my wifi back, i did get my wifi back but at an incredibly low speed! cant even do the speed test on it on count that its too damn slow!im thinking its not configured correctly even tho my router before this one connecting automatically no problem. please help1!

Do you have a class AC wireless adapter? What make & model # is it?

Is the router a v1 or v2 edition?

dont know much about technology , maybe what the average teenager know , so ill try to explain.

mmm im not sure if i have a AC wireless adapter not sure what that is.
the make is TRENDnet and the model number is TEW-812DRU
and the router is a v2 edition

like to add that i called costumer service countless time and always was the same thing " reboot the router" ober and over again . they made me download the latest firmware because it wasnt on the newst one so rite now its running 2.0.8.0 .

and thank you so much for taking time to help me! this is my last hope and i really want it to work . read so many good reviews and i was so excited when i first got it but now that this happend i feel like im going to have to get a new one /:
