i've checked my motherboard bios i cant find anything.
these are my computer specs if they help in any way

Motherboard: ASUS P6T DELUXE V2
Graphics: ATi 4890 HD
RAM: 8GB geIL 1600MHz
HDD: SSD 60GB, 1TB
CPU: Core i7 920
OS: Windows 7 64bit

anyother info you need please let me know

thank you

You don't need to change anything; with 4 out of 6 slots populated, you can't run in tripple channel mode, and the performance hit is small. If you want tripple channel mode, then fill up the last 2 slots, but I don't think it's worth the money with memory prices so high. And according to the diagram on the left, all 8 gb is being detected.

I would recommend getting the 2 more sticks when you can get a buy - memory is marked down on sale from time to time = keep checking tigerdirect.com - I think the best service and price on the net.
