i'm running win2k with a usb intellimouse that keeps freezing.
unplugging and replugging it in fixes the problem for a while, then it
freezes again. i've tried uninstalling the intellimouse software and
updating my motherboard drivers, to no avail. i've run my girlfriends
mouse successfully on this machine, and she's run my mouse on hers. it
seems to be this mouse with this machine only. before buying another
mouse to replace mine, i'd like to try fixing it. i'd read in another
group here that updating my bios could be a solution, so that's what
i'm trying. when i go to the dos window it says it awdflash doesn't
support windows, which i take to mean it must be run on a machine that
is running pure dos. all the instructions i find are for making a
bootable floppy, which i can't do since i don't have a floppy drive.
can someone provide me with simple instructions for flashing my bios in
win2k... or fixing my mouse? thanks!
