So, I have been having trouble getting my MSI 970 gaming motherboard to recognize and use wired internet. I have a separate wireless adapter from TPlink that works fine, but I decided I wanted to try hooking my computer up to wired internet. When I first plugged in the cable to my pc and the data port in the wall of my house, nothing appeared. I deactivated the wireless adapter to see if it was taking priority over Ethernet but still nothing showed up. Eventually I went into the BIOS to try and see if anything was disabled that shouldn't be, and my Onboard Lan Controller setting was on. I then downloaded MSI Live Update 6 and tried to download the Killer Network Drivers. The download went to 100% and asked to restart my computer, so I did and when my computer booted back up I looked in Live Update 6 and it said the download was incomplete. Not only did the driver downloads fail, but it messed with my wireless adapter forcing me to download drivers for my wireless adapter again in order to get WiFi again. I am honestly out of ideas, and help is appreciated.

YES!

The Killer Network Mgr causes problems.

You said that you "plugged the cable into the data port in the wall". Do you have a router somewhere in the system? How does the "Port in the wall" connect to your ISP?
