friend bought a new premade computer and it says that it can run ultra setting and 60fps but we compared specs and such and yet my computer is almost identical in specs so i'm trying to figure out if i'm doing something wrong if i've made a mistake somewhere and have a need for advice to increase my frame rate.

not sure how to post a dxdiag on here

Solution
They are both still 4 cores CPU and old. The 4790K is around 20% faster than the I5 4440.

What you need is a new CPU with 6+ cores, DDR4 RAM and a new board. That would be a worth upgrade.
Hi Gamer Gato.

You can't just compare two computers like that even if they have almost the same specs. It would have to be identical in every way including the OS and updates installed etc.

If you know the full system specs of both computers can you list them here?

I really doubt your friend bought a new pre-built with a I7-4790K in it. That's a 7 years old CPU in your system. Your friend has a better CPU for sure.

Your friend has a better CPU, probably a better GPU and a more recent version of Windows 10.

You're using an old version of Windows 10 2019. Might want to update it to the latest version.

I say you have the FPS you should have with the specs you have.

But let's talk about that Windows 10 November 2019 version. Why are you still running that version?

Do you update your GPU drivers?

Did you install your Chipset drivers?

Please do your Windows 10 Updates.

And who is having a new computer? Your friend or you both? I thought your friend bought a new pre-built and not you but you said now that you just bought the CPU.

What is this "it says"? Are you talking about some advertisement for the computer or what you and your friend tested? Need some details here. Looking over the posts is seems your CPUs are different but you did not actually list any details about what your issue is.

What FPS are you getting in the games and what is he getting in the games? All settings are the same?

There are two ways to run games faster, decrease the settings/resolution or get faster hardware.
