So I bought a 4k monitor a few days ago expecting it to be as easy as plugging it in and using it right away... unfortunately my hopes were too high. Plugging it into my laptop using HDMI it ran at 4k 30hz and i could not find a way to increase the refresh rate. I bought a usbc to usbc cable rated for 4k 60hz displays as my monitor has usbc display connectivity (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B089GR8J67/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2EK5SOTF0IXU7&psc=1) but when i plugged it in nothing happened! I have a feeling it is to do with the ports on my laptop. I am using an Asus ZenBook 14 UX434 which has one HDMI 1.4 port and one USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (and a few normal usb ports) (https://www.asus.com/Laptops/For-Home/ZenBook/ZenBook-14-UX434/techspec/) <--info for the I/O here. Is it simply impossible for me to use 4k at 60hz with these ports?? Does anyone have any insights or suggestions? Thanks so much!
