Hi everyone!
Purchased a new QL 140 RGB fan to add in my case in order to help the internal airflow.
Unfortunately, as per title, I am trying to make this fan lit up but I am unsuccessfull. The case I have is a Fractal Design R6.
I also bought a Corsair RGB hub.

What I have done is connecting the QL fan power cable into the PWM fan hub of my case. This makes the fan spin.. at least this :disrelieved: .
I have the Corsair RGB hub connected only to the SATA power supply but not the motherboard.. it didn't come with such cable.
The RGB cable of the QL fan is connected to the Corsair RGB hub.
This setup unfortunately doesn't work. I have read that the Corsair RGB hub would need yet again another SEPARATE cable to be connected to the motherboard and controlled. My hope is that this is only for controlling the RGB through iCUE software but at least I would expect that with this setup the fan could lit up... but nope.
I am wondering if I have done something wrong and if eventually I could connect the RGB cable of the QL fan, which I think is a 5V ARGB connector into the motherboard directly to itsRGB header, see docs here. Thanks in advance!!🙏🏻

EDIT: is it really possible that the RGB hub comes without USB connector!? I see 2 different versions out there.

You will need to hook the hub up to the USB port, sans the ARGB connection. ARGB and RGB are two different platforms and are not interchangeable on the motherboard.
Thanks for your answer first of all!
I understand that ARGB and RGB are incompatible but, 2 questions:

1) I found in this video that the RGB cable of the QL is actually an ARGB, video here:

that's why I was wondering if I could connect that directly to the x470 taichi since it seems it has the ARGB header available.

2) if I cannot do what said in question 1) , the only way to light it up is, I believe, buying a Corsair core Node or however that thing is called? Another 80 eur extra for just lighting up a fan is extreme haha

Adapting the non-standard lighting connector of the FAN to a mobo standard ARGB header is one way, yes. And your mobo DOES have an ARGB header. However, that Corsair Lighting Node Core controller is supposed to come WITH a cable that you connect from its USB port to a mobo USB2 header. This is the communications channel between the iCUE software utility running on the mobo and the ARGB controller inside the Lighting Node Core unit. Check with your retail supplier of the Lighting Node Core unit about why you did not get that cable with it. Or, contact Corsair Tech Support for where to get one.
