Hello.
I know this is a common issue for Windows 10 to not recognize the DVD device...at least many others have the same problem... But I couldn't solve mine by what have helped them...there are some solutions there, but none of them worked for my case.

I have tested my device in Windows 7 and it works...in windows 10 it is in "Other Devices". Windows says it works fine and there is no driver update for it...but still doesn't recognize it as a DVD drive. Uninstalling and registery editing didn't work.

Since I couldn't find any driver for my device, I'm here to ask you for your help.
Thanks for reading ^____^

We go through this every week, It's either a driver reinstaliation or a registry fix.

The driver is a generic MS driver 10.0.10586 dated 6-21-2006. Yes the date is right, it is an XP driver. One of many in Win 10.

I have seen it take 8 or 9 times to get Win 10 to recognize it.

If you had just searched for it, you would have had it fixed by now.

I don't think there are drivers anymore for dvd drives unlike the old days when you had to install them in dos you could go to the website that makes your drive and maybe theres a firmware update for it but I have a few TSSTCORP drives also they work with win 10 no issues so maybe the drive is going bad.

Thanks for the answer...but why does it work in Windows7? if there was any problem with the device itself, then it shouldn't work well in windows7 too...no?

I tried to install the firmware...it says "no drive found"
