TUSI-M - what does four rapid beeps mean?

I have a system with an ASUS TUSI-M motherboard. Yesterday when it
started up, it got through the BIOS check, correctly identifying all
the hardware, and then beep rapidly three times, then started to beep
rapidly in groups of four short beeps. While this is happening, I can
hear the fans speeding up and slowing down rhythmically. The manual
doesn't say how to interpret four beeps. And it does this every time
I start up. I thought maybe it was overheating, but I left it off
overnight and tried in the morning with the same result.

If I press "Del" quickly enough, i can get into the BIOS setup.
Everything looks ok. I restored default settings in case anything was
messed up, but that didn't help.

Any advice?

Try to find out what the codes for Award BIOS mean. You should be able to
find them on the net, they are not listed in any motherboard manuals.
