[citation][nom]demonhorde665[/nom]Renders don NOT run on the gpu , The gpu only powers the veiw ports 3ds max (and any other 3d program worth its salt) has ALWAYS rendered off the cpu. the main reason being that the program(s) suport technologies that can't be rendered in real time such as ray tracing, or technologies that are not present in Direct 3d or open glide yet.[/citation]
Blender can currently render off the cpu or gpu. Cycles can't do everything yet, but its getting there fairly quick. I know its compatible with Nvidia cards, not sure if amd is implemented yet.

Guys do you know that this cards are make for 3d modeling not rendering. The rendering run 99% of the time from the cpu itself. What this card does is help Inmediate Image rendering the user uses to while modeling.

It doesn't render a movie not even a frame, just the steady image the user use to model the 3 plane on the rendering grid

It's interesting that nobody points out the irony of not being able to just modify and distribute the drivers (which function as a LKM and must therefore be bound to the GPL) instead of modifying the hardware to change the PCIID.

If you can mod the bugatti to go 400+ or haul a 10 ton+ trailer, I'm sure you would find backers
