Hi,

Recently I bought a Type-C to VGA adapter to connect my laptop (MSI Modern 14, 10th) to an external display. When I connect my laptop to the monitor, I get an error "USB device not recognized" and then device manager show "Unknown USB Device" (Port Reset Failed)". I cannot manually find driver for my adapter because there is no brand on the package. I know my laptop doesn't support Thunderbolt or Alt Mode but there is Type-A to VGA adapter too, so I think my Type-C adapter should work, am I wrong?

So how can I find a proper driver for my adapter? Or is there any way to connect my laptop to an external display (I have already used the HDMI port for the second screen) ?

Thanks in advance!

Solution
No I haven't. I bought it at a small shop which quite far from my home so the next time I visit I will ask them for the driver!

I have googled for the information and here is exactly my adapter: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-CODEGEN-Converter-Compatible-MacBook/dp/B07Y9PQJQQ/ref=sr_1_9?crid=2N3N6IZ51KQVG&dchild=1&keywords=type+c+to+vga+adapter&qid=1609082523&sprefix=type+c+to+vga,aps,394&sr=8-9 , but I still cannot find the driver, could you help me?
Did you notice that at the bottom of the Amazon description Codegen says to contact them. I found this website -- http://destek.codegen.com.tr/

Have you contacted whoever you bought the adapter from for help with a driver ?
