Question Typing for an app makes the system menu disappear.

This is a new problem that I did not see before. When I click on the windows Icon on the bottom left side of my desktop, the system menu pops up as expected, and I am able to scroll through an alphabetically listed series of apps I can choose to run. But if I try to seacrh for the application I want by typing the name of the application, the menu goes blank and there the menu seems to be trying to load options, but it seems to go on forever. Please advise.

I think you're referring to the Start Menu and the App's list. Are you sure that the app you're looking for is installed on your platform?

Are you working with an/Is the OS installed on an SSD? If so and you're seeing this anomaly take place, it might be a good idea to either;
a| see if your OS has any updates pending
or
b| backup all mission critical content and reinstall the OS after recreating your bootable USB drive using Windows Media Creation Tools.
