They should have stayed with RIM. As dead as they can be, as outdated their OS looks...

It's still the most secure business phone out there.

I manage a hosted exchange with a BES... as much as I hate the complexity of upgrading a user from BIS to BES... (Calling their provider, changing the plan, backup the phone, whipe the phone, activate to bes, user wants data back, remove desktop sync service book, restore data without doing full restore, back to service book, undelete desktop sync...)

A BES is useless these days. Exchange 2010 Active Sync, maybe not as granular, but way less complicated and can still remote wipe. And either android or iphone can be tied to it.

"$2.1 million could have hired a lot of people to help enforce immigration law"

Well, lets assume that they will use the phones for two years on average [a conservative estimate IMO], then we're talking $1.05M per year. At $50k per employee [with benefits and employer side taxes and such, also probably conservative], that means money for 21 people-- or about 1 person per 100 miles of US/Mexico border

1 person and a .50 Caliber sniper rifle can cover 3 miles of border =)

or for that matter why dont we do what the south koreans did... and just mine the whole border - one time fee, and the buzzards clean up the idiots who think they can walk across it.

Please tell us what you did to make sure you were born where you were, and not in a desperately poor, violent area. I'm sure the people you would like to murder would like to know your method of choice. I'm sure your compassion for those less fortunate than yourself will be taken into account on judgement day. Good luck.

Maybe that's what the Mexican's should have done before WE took their land.
You do remember that the entire southeastern part of today's USA belonged to Mexico, do you ?

Incidentally, unless you are of Native American heritage, where did YOUR ancestors come from?
