I was thinking the same thing (about getting the Asus Striker Extreme), but then I read a review of it on the [H]. Apparently there is an issue with the board (perhaps in the BIOS), but overclocking on this board was very unimpressive, according to the reviewers.Link to review:

I was thinking either the Striker which has now been dumped due to the shoddy review (although they do admit it has promise, through bios updates) or the BFGtech 680i which has exceptional overclocking and is cheaper than the Asus.

Damn, that's a very nice rig. Dual 8800 GTX's, Asus Striker, X-fi, Raptor X. I agree with some other people though, it seems wrong to have a system like that with a stock heatsink.

LOL, I understand what you're saying. I'm a designer in real life and so I also care about aesthetics......I certainly won't compromise function for forum, which is why I'm tempted to get a Lian-Li.....but they just seem sooooo overpriced.


As far as horsepower goes, I am reminded of a famous quote:

"Aerodynamics are for people who can't build engines."

And who said it? Enzo Ferrari. A company that is the epitome of horsepower and sexiness. Saying that it doesn't matter....LOL...my how times have changed.

In any event, I'm actually worried if I got a "budget" Lian-Li like a PC-7 PLUS that my fan controller, etc would make it look like crap. An in order to make it look GOOD, I'd be looking at spending even more money.......when I could just grab a nice Thermaltake case and put the money into a better vid card instead 😉
