Hey guys! I have a few questions before I buy my build and was hoping you could help me out real quick.
Currently I am going with a 4870 x2 card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150349
but I am a little worried the motherboard. Since I am on a budget I was going for this mobo - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128392
I am also getting a phenom 2x4 955 BE 3.2 proc. - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103674 which I'm going to overclock to around 3.8
The other board i was looking at is the ud4p board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128378
Now, the things i am worried about are can the first board even support the 4870 x2? I've read in a couple places that it won't use the full potential of the x2 card since it's not a crossfire board but i'm not sure if these sources are reliable, I know the difference between crossfire and x2 cards, and I personally see no reason why it wouldn't work with that motherboard but I cant seem to find anywhere showing the two products working together.. Also with me overclocking the processor would the second board be a better choice?
I don't plan on getting a second 4870 x2 for quite some time, but will probably in the future years to come. or step up to newer cards that eventually come out, but for now i will be using just one for a long time i think. I'm just abit worried buying that first motherboard without asking for any advice.
