With the announcement of the Razer blade stealth and the Razer core. As well as Asus's external GPU dock, there comes the question about bottlenecks and if the ultra-book/external GPU is worth the money. As a student with very little space, I also need a laptop for class, these seem like great options. Although I want to know what you think about the whole idea and current products on the market, or new products to the market.

Worth the money, that depends. If you have enough money, and want a light laptop for travel but a good gaming setup when at home, yes it's worth it. Don't know about bottlenecks but I doubt there will be any, at least with the mid range gaming video cards.

For me, not worth it. I'd get a cheap small laptop for use, and a desktop gaming system. Ultrabooks are a premium range product, so worth it or not is not really an issue, it's design and style and having decent speeds in a small form, none of those are totally needed for a computer. Just like you don't need jingly $1,000 earnings but many people still buy them.
