Ultra Witcher 3 build

I want to play witcher 3 on max settings at at least 60 fps. i am playing on a 1920 x 1080p projector.

What kind of build would you recommend. i am not asking for the bear minimum to get at 60fps. i want it to run solid.

Hope you guys can help me make up a good build.

With that budget look at getting a 980ti or even a Titan X
and then maybe getting another motherboard and a new CPU and overclocking ?

If you play at 1080p, you can max EVERY game with a single 290x or 970 GTX.

If he was playing at 1440p, then a TI... if he was playing at 4k... then 295x.

Also, AMD is releasing their new cards tomorrow. Just wait and see.

I think i also have some overheating issues. the game somethimes crashes and the back of the 970 is kinda hot then. (i have 2 basic fans and 1 big fan at the top back)

Your system is really good, instead of wasting money on new parts how about fixing the overheating issues by dusting out the system/possibly putting in better or more fans and then retrying Witcher 3.

The system is clean. only thing that could be causing the problem then is the overheating. i was thinking about going to watercooling but i dont know shit about that. me and a friend are quite technical, so you think we can figure out how to build that?

Watercooling the entire system would be the last resort if it were me but maybe a Corsair AIO water cooler or Noctua Air for the CPU then redoing the case fans for a better push/pull effect might be a more viable solution. What case do you have?

There is graphs in this very thread that prove you completely wrong. Quit making stuff up. the 290x does NOT get 60fps with hairworks off.

How can my system with CF disabled can... (single 290x)?

Deactivate hairwork (or hairsabotage) and VOILA!

OKAY. the hair work does make quite a difference. just went up from 45 at a peaceful place to 55 fps. if it does not require any upgrades then i would like to install some xtra fans to just get rid of the overheating problem. I would need a Cpu cooler and soem good fans that keep my GPU cooler

There's quite more to change/reduce graphics settings that make minimal difference on visuals that would easily get you an additional boost in FPS.

Can you report your current idle & load temps using HWMonitor?

You never said anything about disabling AA aswell.

And is everything even on ultra in that SS?? cause my graphics look better at 1440p especially for a SS that size.

And taking a SS is one thing... i catch my FPS going up to 110 at times.

Take a video with your phone and show us you playing and also your graphic options and post processing.

Why on earth would you use AA with 4k? It's unnecessary and FXAA is what you need at most.

I don't think he needs to do all that just to show off something. Go on Youtube and look for 4k gameplay there.

No thats not it at all.

The point is the 290x does not get 60fps even at 1080p on ultra with hairworks off which has been proven by benchmarks over and over yet he is claiming it does and is skewing the scenario to suit him further.

For instance taking a picture from a downward angle like that raises the fps compared to having the camera look straight on or from above.

I can do the same thing.... normally when i play i get about 90fps on ultra with AA on. So none of these pictures actually show my average fps.
