I have my PC connected to my carrier's provided modem/router in LAN Port 1. I have no issues with internet connectivity and I can access it's webbased configuration using 192.168.0.1

I have a Linksys router connected to LAN Port 2. Linksys says I should be able to connect to it's web based configuration via 192.168.1.1

All my attempts fail when I try to do that. I get a "Connection has timed out Error"

I have reset both my modem/router and router with no change. I've checked the connections and they all seem to be in order. The router had replaced the connection I originally had to my PS3 and It was able to connect to the internet with it no problem.

How can I get to the Linksys configuration?

Solution
This is very simple and you guys do this a lot.

When they say you can access 192.168.1.1 of the WIFI router, they are saying you can access the LAN (very important distinction) port of the Linsys. EXCEPT, you have configured your WIFI router to create a second subnet, and all you can see from your vantage point (LAN1 port carrier router subnet 192.168.0.0) is the Linksys' WAN port. Your subnet 168.0.0 doesn't know anything about the other subnet 168.1.0. hence it can't get to it. TWO OPTIONS:

1. Configure Linksys to allow management on the WAN port.

2. And this is my sincere suggestion, please please please run ONE subnet, not two, and you accomplish this by configuring the Linksys as an Access Point, there is a sticky at the...
The computer is only connected to the carrier's modem.
I do not connect to the computer with the router. My basement smart TV and PS3 do. I am able to connect to the internet through my router with those devices.
I would like to change my security settings on the router, but I'm unable to get to the settings.

Lets see if this is what you're asking ...

I am trying to connect to the router through the modem. The PC is connected to LAN1 of the modem, the router to LAN2. The PC is physically connected to the router.
I'm typing 192.168.1.1 into the PC to get to the router's config.

Thanks ThatVietGuy ...

I connected my router directly to the Linksys router (LAN1), no WAN connection.
192.168.1.1 returned a "404 Error ... File not found"
I did an ipconfig/all and the Default Gateway was 192.168.1.1

When you are done all you have is 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.1.0 will no longer exist.

Solution
Thanks all for your help!

I was eventually able to get into my Linksys router after connecting my PC directly to it's LAN1 port.
I managed to get the WEP key which was the most critical thing for me to do. At least now I I know the wireless security is set and have access now.

But once it's connected to the carrier's model, I am back to not being able to access the configuration options through the LAN port. For this, I think I need to digest jsmithepa's post a bit further. I feel his information may hold the key to success. (Understand, my initial thoughts are it may be a bit advanced with my limited knowledge of networking)
