Hello,
Kindly requesting help to solve a nagging underperformance issue with a brand new MSI RTX 3060 Ti Ventus 2x card.
The 3060 Ti is rendering Arnold C4D GPU frames about 60% slower than the same scene on an ASUS Zephyrus G15 with an RTX 3070 Laptop GPU onboard. All Cinema4d settings the same.
There aren't any Arnold benchmarks, so I tried both OctaneBench and Passmark, and each test scored the 3060 Ti higher by about 5%.
The temps on the 3060 Ti while using 100% GPU while rendering are topping out at about 55 degrees,, while the 3070 Laptop is peaking around 74% (I know apples to oranges for temps)
So I guess I'm wondering where the bottleneck is - the system with the 3060 Ti is about 3 years older (Threadripper 1920x, 3.5, 64GB RAM), but it should still be at least as fast as the laptop renders, no?
Any suggestions on where to look first are greatly appreciated, P.
