[SOLVED] Unknown Pixel Damage to Monitor

Hey, I recently turned on my Dell U2718Q Monitor and found the display was severely damaged. There is a large vertical band of damaged pixels on the right hand side of the monitor and some horizontal lines near the bottom. The screen is not cracked either.

I would appreciate any insight into the cause of this.

The screen is quite obviously cracked stemming out from a severely physically damaged point at the bottom right of the monitor.

It's VERY obviously cracked. What would cause that is something hitting the screen.
