I just bought an Althon II X2 250 I'd like to overclock it a bit by increasing the Core Multiplier. The default multiplier seems to be 15x in as shown AMD Overdrive. The trouble is using either the bios or AMD Overdrive I there is no option to increase the multiplier beyond 15x. What do I do?

If you wanted an unlocked multiplier you should have gone with a Black Edition CPU. In order to overclock you need to raise the FSB, it should be at 200 by default. Raise in increments of 5 but make sure to raise the voltage as well. Let me know if you need any help with this task.

I used AMDs Overclock software to do that. I am too much of a newbie to be overclocking it manually. It overclocked to 3.8 MHZ the first time but I went down after on the second run. 3.4MHZ. I have the Athlon II 250 as well with the stock mutliplier at 200..I would listen to OVerclocker he seems to know what his doing.
