I run Windows 2000, with a fairly good video card. It's a Radeon 7200 32 ddr. It runs most games decently.
Since I upgraded to 2000, ut hasn't been the same. It's almost perfectly the same, until the little stutter. I get about a constant 80+ fps, but occasionally it lags a little bit. At first I thought it was normal online lag, until I played 1 player mode and it still existed. Sometimes it does it when the music changes, I don't know. I've gotten all new drivers, except for my sound card, which is an old ensoniq pos. All other games of mine work perfectly, I'd happily take any suggestions.
SOrry if I sound out of it, I'm on about 2 hours sleep and I thought I'd get this online before I head to bed.

Thanks a bunch

It might be a sound issue. Try and turning you sound off in the game or pulling your sound card and see if that helps. I am running with Win 98SE with no problems. My hardware is very different that yours though. Do you have the UT patch? Good luck.. I hope you got some good sleep. Do you play CTF lowgrav Instagib? If you do, check out our website. www.bltclan.net. Take care.

Hang in there. It can only get better!

Yeah, I remember the last UT patch made like 5 pages of fixes, that's your best bet.

Ok, I d/l the patch but foudn out it needs the first cd to run it for some reason. Tomorrow I'll get the cd from a friend who's borrowing it, and try it out.

I tried it with no sound and with a different sound card and the same thing happened.

Something else I noticed, is that when I play like 9+ video files at the same time, my computer bogs down somethign fierce. In the ctrl-alt-dlt processes screen it shows it 98 and above percent. When I had 98, I could play around 20+ vidoes (for the hell of it) at the same time and it would run smooth as hell. I've got service pack 3, but I'm confused as why this would be doing this. Any feedback would be more than appreciated
thanks again

K, I installed the patch a couple days ago, and it's still happening. I tried formatting and installing a fresh copy of 2000, and the same thing happened. I even thought this could be a ram issue, so I threw in another 256 stick. Same damn thing...

After finals today, I'm going to try to install xp and see if it'll run period, and if it does, see if it runs correctly. This is driving me insane because it worked 100% on Windows 98 for the longest time

Maybe this site can help <A HREF="http://www.rage3d.com/r3dtweak/" target="_new">rage3d</A>

I found Win2000 to be the worst OS for UT, no matter what I did. I got it running better, but not as good as Win98 or XP. Good luck.

Hey Baby, want to play with my computer?
