A lot has changed in the 10 years since I built a PC, mostly for the better, but I am unsure how to install the new version of Windows 11. I ordered an OEM home version of Win 11 which to my surprise is enclosed with a DVD, but I am not installing a DVD in the new build. I haven't opened the package in case I need to return it-- will there be info on converting to a USB drive on another PC, or downloading what I need to move ahead or should I be buying some other version?

Go to that link and download Media create tool. It will let you create a USB install. Alternatively search Google for rufus usb guide.

I am not sure about OEM, but there should be a serial key in the box. But maybe since it's on a DVD it has to be installed from it and auto apply a key that way. In that case borrow a DVD drive, external even, may be your best bet. Or return it and get another version :)
