Hello all
thanks to everyone who helped to point me towards UO Assist with my last
question on filling kegs.
Even though I have been playing for over two years, the only other program I
have used with UO is the UO Auto Map. (gotta have it)

Do you all recommend any other programs that are worthwhile to check into -
nothing that will get me banned please....

Also, can I ask what you do with UO Assist - those of you that do have it
and do use it. I currently have the trial period... im good for a few days
yet. I do not get to play often and I m trying to decide if it is worth
paying $$ for or not.

TIA
Paul

You noticed that with UO Assist that UO Automap calibrates itself
automatically?

I use UOA mostly for 2 things - the sell agent so I don't spend an hour
selling stuff to the provisioner and the bandage self macro. I did use it
for some macros when I was learning lock picking. Probably do that some
more eventually since that char isn't GM'd yet.

I use it for a lot of the 'housekeeping' functins that take so long.

Arm/Disarm (you can assign up to 4 different weapon combos with UOA - my
archer has his general bow, Dragon Slayer, Undead Slayer and Deamon
Slayer tied to separate 'hot keys')

Dress/Undress (mostly comes in handy for getting redressed after being
killed - running back from the healer)

Various macros for repetitive actions (fishing, mining, alchemy, etc)

I keep my reagent count posted on my title bar with a warning when I get
to 5 - makes sure I never run out in the heat of a battle.

I have hot keys for picking up thing (reagents, arrows, etc) and I use
the organize agent so I can dump things into my main backpack - then
sort them into bags and such.

I use the Vendor agent a lot - makes it easy to load my vendors.

And I am very used to throwing things into a sell bag and then letting
the sell agent sell them off.

It works well with trades, for instance a lumberjack/bowyer lets you cut
wood and carve bows at the same time.

Likewise the auto stack feature is good for things like boat mining,
fishing, or lumberjacking. You just put a pile of logs or ore next to
you and UOA automatically stacks to them.

I usually use the auto recycler for my smiths. Just label a bag as a
recycle bag and press a single key to recycle everything in it to ingots.

I have bandage self hot keyed for all my healer types.

The hot sell bag is the one I use the most. Saves clicking on items or
leaning on the button to sell 200 items at a shot.

It's almost safe to say I would not have GM's mining or smithing w/o UOA.

Its worth it, absolutely. I wouldnt want to play the game without UO
Assist, not now when I have gotten used to it 🙂
I use it for a lot of things. Fishing is a bit easier with UOAssist.
Just make a macro that uses the fishing pole, and then with one button
you can use the fishing pole without having to target the sea.
Hot sell bag is a god's blessing when training tailoring for example.
Make a lot of tunics in the sell bag, go to the NPC and sell them all
with one click.
Recycle bag is very convinient too.

Im sure there is a bunch of other stuff in it that I havent discovered
yet, but it's sure is a good investment.

I'm a purest. Nothing against folks who use UOA, but I never have and
likely never will. I dunno, I'm funny that way.

Mule? I did not know UO had mule's. Pack horses, Lama's, beetles, but
I have never seen a "mule".............................

I have two accounts, one with UOAssist and one that I just setup that
doesn't have it yet. I have SOOOOOO many issues now when I play the
account without Assist!! I have grown accustomed to things like the
bandaid timer, stat bars, and reg counters in the top of my screen. I
was trying to train some healing the other day without Assist and I
found myself lost without that bandaid timer!

Others have already mentioned the many other features: sell and
recycle agents (training tailoring provides me with all the bandaids
I'll ever need now), auto-stacking fish, disarm/arm, getting dressed,
quick macro-recording for mundane tasks (I use it a lot when I
redecorate my house), quick potion consumption, being able to quickly
sort all of my skills and view gains in real time is nice too. Oh, and
how about that pickup agent when training archery!

They have some nice features up for OSI review/approval right now too,
namely the ability to split ore in your pack to single pieces which
would help immensely with mining training.

All-in-all an indespensible tool for a game I've already spent WAY too
much money on! Now that I mention it, I'm going to go purchase a code
for my second account as soon as I hit the "Send" button on this post.

Now if only I could collect some $$ from Tugsoft for sounding like a
freaking commercial for them 😛

And if you're the kind of guy that objects to spending more real
dollars on something like this you can even buy activation
codes for UO gold from some brokers. That's probably what
I'd do if I needed a second code.

Use item type; knife. I still have to target the corpse, but
it's better than nothing. I play 3D with a trackball, so any
edge I can get clicking on small items in my pack is a blessing.
Occasionally I tinker with it to try and target the corpse, but
never got it as functional as I would like. Also, bones.

>> Apply scissors to hides

Use item type; scissors / Target item type; hides. No matter
what type of hide I'm carrying, even three different kinds, I hit
this macro and they all get snipped up. Now all I have to do is
watch my weight.

Sorry to have been unclear, I was simply pointing out the varied
ways UOA can be useful. If I ever get it working, I'll post the
script.

This I did get working 🙂 and it is as you say - better than nothing.

around to see what brokers I can find selling UOAssist!
