I have 1x DDR4 8GB RAM 2000mhz (cpu-z reading) stick already installed in 1/4 available slots on my motherboard which is a B350M Bazooka. I want to upgrade to 24GB RAM using the 3 available slots, however, for now, I have only ordered 2 more sticks of RAM which are each 2x 4GB (desc. reads 2666 MT/s). If I used the 2x 4GB DDR4 sticks alongside the 1x DDR4 for now would they work together meaning would I still be able to get "DUAL-CHANNEL" to operate? The motherboard does have written on it near the RAM sticks "DDR4 BOOST."

Moreover, I have a XFX graphics card thats 4GB, and I believe this motherboard may only have one PCI-e slot which is taken by this massive graphics card. Is there way to expand on the slots if I wanted to add some more hardware?

Finally, I really want to add a NVME ssd to my computer, and I think I read somewhere that either m.2 and/or NVME are compatible. Can anyone verify this for me? I opened my computer to look for the NVME slot and I just couldn't spot anything (I'm a newbie), but even more interesting, is that I cannot find a single hard disk in this computer. Quite literally, all i can see inside is the motherboard, cpu and fan, graphics card, and power supply...THATS IT? Im so confused, and if you could help I would be forever greatful!

Here is the link to my CYBERPOWERPC from Bestbuy, specs are:
CyberPowerPC - Gamer Master Desktop - AMD Ryzen 5-Series - 8GB Memory - AMD Radeon RX 580 XTR - 1TB Hard Drive - Black

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EXPERTISE

Solution

thank you so much, short and precise!
Okay so scrapping all memory sticks and going with 2x 4GB DDR4.

does it have the proper port for SsD m.2 nvme ? if so, i cannot see it at all. Moreover, I can't even find the dang 1TB hard disk installed in it. I don't know if it is 3.5", or 2.5" or what because it is not visible at all.

thank you

If you are adding 32GB of RAM, then don't install the other set. What XFX graphics card? What is the rest of the component list? What motherboard?

You would need a motherboard with support for AMD Crossfire to link multiple AMD graphics cards. The graphics cards would need to be very similar models with the same VRAM.

Pretty sure you have sticks of DDR4 plugged in to your mainboard. GDDR4 is the type of RAM that you find soldered down on your graphics card. Kindly tell us what motherboard you have in your computer right now and we can tell you how much memory or M.2 cards you can install.

As to adding multiple graphic cards to your system, it very much matters what processor and mainboard you have. Most decent gaming systems can handle a 2nd card. Adding a 3rd gets more difficult. Generally people go with identical cards.

after reading everyones reply, which im supre grateful for, it's obvious i was not ready to ask this question given i don't even know the dang motherboard type. I do know it is a AMD build so would that motherboard be different from one that uses Intel?:

i've spent countless hours now trying ot figure out all the components and would be willing to send me a list of the best upgrade parts for my rig. .It's my first time building/upgrading a PC so im sure you all know how excited i am if you remember your first time! hahha

I.E. it would help to know if my PC casing is good enough as a starter, will it fit all the new/different components. What about my standard power supply? etc etc:??:

You can do an M.2 NVME SSD, there’s a slot on your mainboard for one, you’ll need to figure out how to clone your Windows install to it or install Windows from scratch.

You have 4 memory slots so can probably keep the 8GB you have and add a 2 x 16GB DDR4 RAM kit to the empty slots on your mainboard.

You can lookup a lot more for yourself at:

Solution
Unfortunately that doesn't help al that much for the motherboard.

I would suggest a B450 motherboard, an R7-1700x or R7-2700X processor and a new case, You can use the current Rx-580 graphics card and RAM for the present.

Then if you still want to upgrade you can replace the RAM, power supply, and graphics card.

Hi Marlin,

So I have discovered I have the B350M Bazooka motherboard. I really want to upgrade to NVME if possible. Do you think its possible?

I apologize AGAIN everyone I AM ONLY BARELY seeing that you all gave me the answers I've been looking for EXCEPT that I received NO notification that any of you replied. I do agree, that pre-built systems are terrible, however, my son received it as a gift for the holidays so I just decided I would beef it up a little for him although he has no complaints except for the memory stalling on some of his games (go figure since when has 8GB RAM been enough memory for the past few years). SMH haha

The system that you have is not completely horrible. You don’t need to be replacing your mainboard. There are a couple of fairly inexpensive upgrades that would help.

First, return the 2 x 4GB sticks you’ve ordered. They are too small. Just a waste of two slots. You need to install RAM sticks in matched pairs for dual channel mode. Pull out the single 8GB stick the computer came with and see if you can’t order the same type. Either that or order a set of Corsair or G.Skill 2 x 8 GB and install only them. There’s a cheap set of Corsair Vengeance DDR4-2400 2 x 8 GB at Amazon right now.

Upgrading to an SSD will be a little more difficult. M.2 is the type of slot on your mainboard. NVME is the type of card you would install in it. You could also install a regular 2.5 SATA SSD. They are a bit cheaper and there isn’t that much gaming performance difference. You may well have to re-install your Windows on whichever you get to get things working. A 500 GB SSD is less than $100 these days. I like Samsung EVO, WD and Crucial myself.
