Upgrade advice for current compy

Built my first computer in 2012. I want to upgrade it. I'd like to use as many of my current parts as possible. The glaring issues to me are my amd fx-4100 and radeon 6870 1gb. My motherboard is a gigabyte ga 970a ud3 fm3+. I was thinking i grab a radeon r9 380 4 gb and an fx 8350 and i would be okay. Someone else was trying to convince me that i should just get a new intel motherboard with i3-6100 and id be better off. I would need new ddr4 memory in that case also, right? I find myself questioning it severely. Is my bottleneck really that bad? Only looking to max out 1080p 60 fps high to max settings.

If you want to upgrade your PC for games, I will recommend to get the i3 6100 too, because the AMD fx cpu is old, even it is still good enough for games.

And you don't have to use the DDR4 for the new i3 6100. Like this MB ASUS B150M-A D3. If you are in USA, the fx8350 price tag will be $150, and add $30 more you will get the i3 6100 + ASUS B150M-A D3. But it is up to you. And if you still want to buy the fx cpu, I will recommend to get the fx 8320.
