I currently have gigabyte b75-md3h motherboard and have 8gb corsair vengeance ddr3 1600mhz ram with cas latency of 9 and 9-9-9-24 timing. I want to upgrade to 16gb. Can I get ram from different brands for the next two slots as long as those two sticks are identical? Can I go for corsair vengeance c10 which has 10 cas latency and different timing but same speed? Or do I have to get exact same sticks again i.e. 1600c9 ddr3 from corsair vengeance series?

Solution
All of those ideas might not work. Those ideas are not guaranteed to work by memory manufacturers. You may end up having to run the memory at a slower speed if it works at all.

This is a 16GB kit.
CORSAIR Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMY16GX3M2A1600C9R (Red)

A single kit is guaranteed to work if it meets your system needs.
