Question Upgrade from Ryzen 3 3200G

Hello, newbie PC builder here. I currently have Ryzen 3 3200G and I want to upgrade soon to Intel Core i3 12100F. Is 500W PSU enough for i3 12100F and RX 6600 or RTX 2060 GPU? If not, I could go with used RX 580 or GTX 1650 Super/1660 Super.

My current components with my R3 3200G:

Motherboard: ASUS Prime A320M-K
RAM: TeamElite Plus 8GB 2x8 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM
CPU Cooler: YGT Coolmax CX-1132
SSD: 250 GB Kingston PCIe M.2 NVMe Gen 3

Is there a specific reason you want to switch to intel?
Another option would be to instead just upgrade to a newer Ryzen CPU.
This way, you'd get more value from your money by not having to buy a new motherboard.

Reviews said i3 12100F is on par (kind of) against Ryzen 5 5600G and next AMD Ryzen gen will use AM5 socket while Intel will still use LGA 1700. Should I stick to A320M motherboard? They mostly recommend B450, B550 motherboards when upgrading to Ryzen 5 5600/5600G since A320 motherboard has less features than B450, B550 motherboards.

I see no reason to switch the mobo just for the cpu swap unless you want some feature of a new mobo.

Just make sure when you go to switch the cpu that you have the proper bios updates. Also, My AsRock b350 board requires you to do them in a certain sequence.

On an a320 board, I think the highest I’d suggest to go is a 5700x, if there’s a bios for your board that supports it just simply due to the vrms etc on your board so you don’t cook the board. Someone mentioned the 5600g, also consider the 5600 and 5600x since those should be 65 watt cpus and you are adding a gpu. I have an old b350 board myself and it works fine with a 5600x.

My point exactly, the performance is similar but you'd be able to keep your current motherboard, and not have to buy a new one.
I only recommended the 5600G because here in the US, it's currently the best deal.

I'm unsure of your area specific prices but the Ryzen 5 5600X, 5600, or 5500 would all be comparable just get whichever was cheapest.
Don't forget you'd need to update your motherboard BIOS before swapping to Ryzen 5 though.

Depending on prices in your area, you could go as high as an RX6650-XT with your PSU.
Consider the 6600, 6600-XT, 2060, 2060 Super, and 6650-XT depending on local pricing.

The rx 6600 would be the faster of those 2 cards. If I recall it’s almost as fast as the rtx 3060. The 5600g, 5600, or 5600x should have no issues with that card. I’ve got a 5600x and a 6700xt and it’sa great pairing. In my case and yours the gpu should be a bottleneck to the cpu which is what you want, since you want a strong cpu to push higher fps. So as long as your bios can update I think compared to your system now you’ll be very happy with it. You may be able to sell your old cpu to make up some of the costs also.

Edit: thought of this also, you may need to upgrade the power supply. I think the rx6600 needs 600 watts. Some of the other folks can chime in as well but it’s a consideration.

The 6600 is worse than the 6600-XT, and the 6650-XT is better than both.
The 6600 performs similar to the 2060 Super, and the 6600-XT performs similar to the 2070 Super in raw FPS.
Some of the 6600-variant cards can require more than a 500W PSU, but most do not. Most of the budget ones, will not. The one 8pin connector available on his PSU will be sufficient for the majority of the 6600-varient cards, but there are some outliers to be wary of.

All good. Like I said compared to what the op has now any of those options is going to be amazing. I would suggest however that as soon as possible, upgrade the power supply to a higher wattage unit. For one the longevity of the system, but then it opens the door for more upgrades. For example in a year if the op gets a killer deal on a 4090.
