Upgrade from Vista

I have a Satellite L45 with an Intel Pentium® Dual CPU T2310 1.46GHz Processor and 1.00 GB of memory. Should I upgrade to Windows 7 or get a new laptop? I'm a student in college and will be using MySQL in my database course.

New laptop. Old slow processor and 1GB RAM does not equal good experiences with Windows 7 and a database application.

Oh boy I would upgrade it persoanlly, with those specs im assuming its pretty old so I would imagine the parts are reaching the end of their life I would hate for you to install a new OS then have the thing just die from a hrdware failure a few months down the road. An upgrade to something a little more modern is the best choice in my opinion.
