Upgrade GPU or go to "Blue" team?

Hello all. Long time visitor 1st time posting..... I had a quick question. I'm looking to do a bit of an upgrade and was wondering which route would I benefit most from. I tried to put my system specs in my profile but I couldn't. So here is my setup:

AMD FX-6300@4.2ghz /w CoolerMaster V6GT air cooler
ASRock 990FX Extreme4 Motherboard
MSI Gaming GTX 770 2gb
8gb G Skill DDR3-1866(2x4gb)
Rosewill 850w 80+
ETC on the rest.....

Ok anyhow, would it be better for me to upgrade my VC to say a 970 or upgrade my CPU and go with the Blue team? Not sure if a 970 would be hindered by my CPU? I would like to have the 4gb(3.5+.5 w/e) for future proofing(?). But if I would see a much better improvement with the Intel CPU I'd go that route(would really like to try, hear some many good things about them). I can do one or the other, although the CPU upgrade path being a bit more which is why one or the other. I hope I worded this right. lol Thanks for your time and input.

I would take a new processor first, the 770 is still fairly powerful in the current market. The 970 will be moderately bottlenecked by the 6300 as well.
I would recommend a new i5 (4690k or 4590) and a Z97 (H97) board.

it does comes with a stick of memory, but I can just give that to my bro to put with the 6300 and mobo this bundle is replacing.... I'd reuse my current memory and cpu cooler(seems to do quite well). Does that sound pretty good? Decently priced and not much more than I was thinking. Thanks again for the reply1

I recently picked up that card from a friend. I have not had a chance to do any gaming on it. A friend of mine used the system, to play WoW over the weekend. I guess it did fine. :lol: I have had 0 time for gaming lately. Between work, gf, and my Bronco, gaming has been low priority.
