Hello,

I dont know anything about modems/routers but I know that my router is fairly old.
Its a D-Link D-524 from 2004/2008. Its connected to a b-box2 modem (the free modem my ISP gives me, which is Belgacom in Belgium)
My internet speeds are pretty slow, downloading stays mostly below 1 mb/s. I feel like I should be getting a higher download speed.

Should I upgrade my router, and should I try and get a better modem too?
Will I see an improvement knowing that my PC is connected to the router with a cable and not wireless? But I do use the same router on all my wireless devices.

If theres any more information needed, let me know.

Maybe you got what I've got - it goes through a crappy phone exchange that can't put out more than 9mbs and by the time it gets to the house its less than that.

But I still updated my modem/router to a Netgear DGND3700 - N900 dual band wifi. It suits my family. We got mainly 2 PCs and a laptop. My PC is connected by ethernet. The laptop by 2.4GHz wifi and my son's PC by 5GHz wifi. We also got 2 smart TVs and can run movies to them over the wifi from our PCs.

Our download speed varies from 3 to 6 mbs.
