Upgrade? Or downgrade?

I'm buying a AMD FX 4100 from a person who needs to get rid of his MB,RAM,CPU.

I currently own the AMD Phenom X4 9600 Black Edition, It sucks, I know.

Im wondering if this would be a upgrade or downgrade and what kind of gaming performance would I get?
