Hi guys,
I'm looking to upgrade my pc, but i'm not sure what i should change first and what doesn't need to be changed.
Before i write my specs i suppose it's better to say what i'll be doing. I use my pc for the following: Gaming (i'd like to be able to play game with maxed out settings) , photoshop, illustrator, after effects (pretty intensive), premiere (going to work with RAW video soon), 3ds max/other 3d applications (i just started getting into it but i'd like to be ready for when I start doing more intensive stuff), coding (still kinda basic but i'm studying software engineering so I'm assuming it should be powerful for the years to come). That's the main chunk of what I do, but I do always dabble in new hobbies so I'd like my PC to be ready to handle most tasks I throw at it whenever I find something new.
Anyways here are my current specs:
Hard drives: My main drive is a Samsung 840 EVO 1 TB, and i have a secondary western digital cavalier black 2 TB HDD (I think i'll be good for memory as I also have an external hard drive)
Graphics Cards: I have two GTX 570's running in SLI, they have 1.28 gb of gddr5 Vram
CPU: I have an i7 2600K @ 3.4 GHz, i haven't over clocked and I've been told that it's very easy to over clock this CPU, but i've never done it cause i'm afraid i may ruin it. I do however have a corsair Hydra H60 installed on it so maybe it would be better to just get over my fear if just over clocking it would be sufficient.
Power Supply: I have an 850w power supply
Motherboard: gigabyte ga-z77x-d3h, I'm hoping I won't need to change my motherboard because that's the biggest hassle but if i do, then so be it.
I think that's most of the relevant info, if I'm missing anything let me know. I would really appreciate feedback!
Thanks!
