Upgrade to my PC. What do you think?

This is an upgrade to the PC I'm currently using.

CPU: i7 4790k
Mobo: MSI Computer ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97S SLI KRAIT EDITION
RAM: kingston hyperx blu ddr3 1600 mhz 16 gb
PSU: CX 500 by corsair
GPU: r9 270x 2gb
Case: Osterog case by enermax
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper TX3
Storage: 1tb HDD by seagate baracuda

Im planning to run games like BF4 and ARMA 3 maxed settings 60 fps or higher. Can I achieve that with this build?

You'd be better served by a cheaper i5 and a higher-end GPU. A 270x is getting long in the tooth by now.

oh and upgrade psu as well it is not enough for the build you chose get an at least a a gold plus of 750-850

A 270x might be able to play it. However you would be better off getting an i5 and use thre money to get a better gpu like a gtx 970. Those games are more GPU intensive than cpu intensive

the i5, your i7 will be useless for games if you have to use a crap gpu, it doesnt make up for it.

16gb ram is not strictly neccessary for gaming, or really all that useful,

id take the i5, 8gb ram and up it to a 970 if you can grab one with the money saved from ram.

in fact i did.

the 270 is absolute rock bottom minimum for new games (see witcher 3) the i5 and 970 combo are letting me blitz games ( most demanding run yet is killing floor 2 @ 120-130 fps on ultra settings 1080p. still waiting for witcher to finish downloading.

To answer your question(s), BF4 yes, Arma 3 no.

Why did you ask what people think and "Can I achieve [60 fps or higher] with this build? " if you weren't actually looking for suggestions for improving the build after getting a Yes or No answer?

yea that build. BTW, i searched online for a psu calculator, and they suggestted 400 watts for the system to operate. anyways, thanks.
