i have a real cushy job where i play computer games all day 4 days on 4 days off i have my good computer at home where its going to stay and i am looking at upgrading my old computer (for work) to get it run as fast as possible to try get it to run bc3 as best as it can anyway.

Board: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. EP43-DS3L
2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad Q6600
4GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+

and it needs a new power supply 😛

is it worth upgrading this or looking into a new computer?

If you can OC that Q6600 it should be fine for a while. With a good after market cooler, 3GHZ should be pretty do-able.

I'd replace the card though. What resolution do you play at with this pc? Something like a 6850 or 560 should be good for average resolutions.

It would be fine for BC3 if you overclocked the cpu to at least 3.2ghz and got a new video card. At least a GTX460 I would recommend.

I have been pricing up a decent new gaming computer and i am thinking go new and give this one to a friend to play with i have never done overclocking and it sounds like a major headache

OC the CPU to 3.5Ghz+ and grab a GTX 560 Ti. For the PSU, grab a xfx 650w. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207014 Good deal and you can SLi later. It is definantly overkill, but it's pretty cheap for a great PSU.

i have heard bad things about xfx i have tried to steer away from them......

i have never done overclocking before is it easy enough to do?

First thing is that your cpu is as good as a Phenom II X4 910.

You can OC the cpu that way you will have great performance!

Second you need to really change your gpu.And i mean really.

well I need a new case so if I went with

CoolerMaster CM Storm Scout
Sapphire Radeon HD6970 2GB
CoolerMaster GX 750W PSU (for future mobo and cpu)

then i just to learn how to overclock

XFX PSUs are made by seasonic, the BEST PSU maker in the WORLD. They are great. XFX is one of the best known companies in the computer industry. They are great! OCing is not very hard, look it up on youtube. I can tell you if you want though. Youtube gives great tutorials though, so I suggest it.

I recommend Antec psu's. You can never go wrong.

as for a case, Newegg has the Antec 900 for $59 right now with free shipping. Can't beat that deal.

As for XFX, they are my favorite video card company, my first choice.

Yeah, Antec and XFX are both great because they get there PSUs from seasonic. That is a great deal for the 900 also!

Oh, that is news to me. Do you know the other companies? I know not long ago corsair started making there own PSU instead of seasonic though.

Yeah not sure about enhance, but they only make one model. They make psu's for a lot of companies from the looks of it.
