As the title states, I upgraded my daughters MB in her PC (MSI B550M-VC WIFI). In BIOS, UEFI is enabled and BIOS sees the SSD, but when I start the install process for Windows and it asks me what drive to install on, it does not pull up the SSD. Any ideas on why this is happening?

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your daughter's build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Did you recreate the installer to rule out a corruption in your installer?

If the motherboard or SSD did not come with any driver disk then what you can do is try a different SATA port on the motherboard and a different Sata cable. Might be a long shot of not detecting it at all for just faulty port/cable.

otherwise may have to go to hard drive website and see if they do have a driver download.

otherwise2: go to that motherboard's manufacture site and search any info on SSD Driver or regular google search.

What SSD?
If NVME M.2 drive, then load nvme drivers during install.

Get them from Gigabyte windows USB tool.
NVME drivers are generic (not board manufacturer or chipset specific) and are compatible with various windows versions 7,8,10,11.

Download Gigabyte windows USB tool,
unzip,
find included nvme drivers (any or all of them)
WindowsImageTool\StorageControllers\Intel_NVMe\Driver64
WindowsImageTool\StorageControllers\Samsung_NVMe_v1_4_7_17\64bit
copy on windows installation media and
load during installation.
