Question Upgrades option for a Asus H81M Plus setup

Hi,

So I looked for a thread possible to speak about the older generation and in particular surroundind this generation of CPU.

In brief, I am not a PC gamer, I used my computer my Office, youtube, music, Amazon Prime/Netflix, watching movies, the intenet.

I currently have base of:

Asus H81M Plus - I wish I had found a H97 but getting one from the UK not easy
I3 - 4170
16GB RAM which is just DDR PC3200/1600 I believe
Very old ENGT430 1GB nvideo PGU
PSU 500w

I am looking to upgrade this with an I7 - 4790 PCU and a Nvidia 1050 ti GPU

I believe this will be comfortable for my needs. I'm never going to use a PC for gaming. The chances are if I ever did get a new mobo, I'd go for the H97 if I could find one to add the extra 16 GB RAM to it.

Well my GPU is on the way out anyway so I naturally want to upgrade a next installment to a decent option and I'd like to have the most power out of this motherboard while it's running which many advisors on here not recommending a jump from an I3 to I5 worth it? so I guess there is that reason too.

I can get an I5 option for around $15/£11/12 or an I7 for around $31/32/£25 at the moment so it seemed sensible to grab the latter.
